Netgear WGT624v3 as an Ethernet bridge

Filed under: Uncategorized — Hugsie @ 12:40 pm

Is a lost cause.  I am completely UNABLE to get this PIECE OF SHIT to function as a wireless bridge for Ethernet devices. There’s a guide that tries to explain it in broken English that doesn’t work, as well as someone elses write up that tries to update this information, but it simply DOES NOT WORK.

I also have a Linksys WRT54G router using Tomato firmware that works PERFECTLY for my needs.  It also has a Ethernet bridge function (which is brain-dead easy to enable), and it works GREAT when it’s connected to the shitty WGT624 as a normal router.  But for some reason Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 keeps getting kicked offline when the WGT624 is being used, yet everything else works just fine.

So i need another WRT54G router so i can use that as an Ethernet bridge, since configuring the WGT624 is such a pain in the ass using useless tools, mind numbing telnet command line bullshit, all for it to NOT WORK.  I gave up trying to get this fucking thing to work as a bridge.  So I need to go out and buy another WRT54G, so i’ve been hitting up on eBay but some of them are being sold for about $50 which seems a bit high priced for such an old piece of hardware.

  1. Let me get this right… You are a lost cause. Your English is broken. You have a firm tomato which fits your needs perfectly. You’re getting kicked a lot and it is a pain in the ass. You’ve given up fucking but your hardware is still high.

Anyway I scored a Linksys WRT54G router off eBay for $20. So all should be awesome.
