More bullshit evony

Surfing the web today I saw this banner ad. Look at the character closely. That is obviously a Second Life avatar.  What gives it away? It’s n00b face! It has what we call a “Ruth” face, or the default female face when you make a new body shape. Even the outfit it’s in is a very common freebie sex slave harem type outfit.  The skin, while good, is likely a freebie of stolen copy-bot content.

So at first I thought this was an advert for Second Life, but wait! LL goes out of their way to not advertise anything “sexual” about SL, so I bit the bullet and clicked the banner ad against my better judgment.  Low and behold it took me to one of the most DESPISED MMOs of the entire internet with their false adverts of (RL) women models with big boobs, accusations of gold farming, and click fraud.

Now they have to use a different MMO to render sexy women, and they can’t even do THAT right with noob-defualt avatars, and freebie clothes. I think Linden Labs Lawyers (LLL?) should look into this and see if there’s any violation of SL’s TOS that doesn’t allow screenshots in SL to be used in banner ads, especially for another MMOs.

On the right is a screen capture I snagged of the banner ad. The add is animated with the boobs pulsing a glowing light on both breasts.  Other than that, as you can see, there’s not much else to this ad.  You’d probably would have ignored it if it wasn’t for the pulsing glowing boobs.

Seriously, these people at evony have no scruples. I hope LL can get on their case about this. Jack Linden, M Linden, ect. all… I hope you’re listening!

  1. Nice catch.. by the way, they have now even taken out the Evony logo now? Jeez

    • yeah since everyone knows how sleazy Evony is even though, ironically, the game it self isn’t at all sexual. It’s a crappy 2D game, and not a MMO as such. Sorta like city building, Civ ripoff, all played via your web browser. So at least there’s no client software to down and install.

  2. The banner indeed looks like a Second Life Avatar. It’s a trick to get people to click on the ads. LOL!
