Grid/Sim shutdowns and disconnections

Filed under: Second Life Shit! — Hugsie @ 12:38 am

What pisses me off most about these shut downs is half the time the client is totally oblivious to your disconnection.  Your mini-map goes “amber” colored, and you can’t move or do anything.  Why doesnt it just TELL YOU you’re disconnected, or just bring up a screen like it normally does when you get dumped offline.

It’s not like it’s waiting for the connection to come back since it’s not trying to reconnect.  If you pull the Ethernet plug out of your PC and plug it back in, SL client will behave in the EXACT same manor.   If it’s not going to try to reestablish connection to the grid, then it shouldn’t be behaving like this.
