Love black friday

I was able to score a copy of Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 for just under $40!!  Amazon had a black friday deal for a collection of newer games at a discount, but I waited till past past 1am to get the deal. Hours later it was back to the $58 price, which is still cheaper than if I bought it at a local store.  Normally if I went to a local store I would end up paying for sales tax for a $59.95 price and which I would end up paying over $64.  Since Amazon apparently isn’t located in CA (yet it seems the package is comming from CA, about 35 miles away from me), I pay no sales tax, and the order qualified for free shipping, plus the black friday deal was in force, so I got it for $39.95!

Tgirl loving men aren’t necessarily gay!

I was reading an article today that I found while randomly browsing, and it talks about something I find my self explaining to people all the time. Men who are attracted to shemales aren’t gay, but the perception, even by men who are attracted to shemales think they might be.

If you’re male, and you’re attracted to a beautiful female’s appearance, then that makes you a heterosexual male. If you’re male and you’re attracted to a handsome male’s appearance, then you’re homosexual.  Having a penis or not isn’t real issue here, since it’s not like these people walk around nude all the time (unless you’re in Second Life!). So your inital attraction to anyone is their appearance, not what may or may not be between their legs.

But at the same time it’s still a type of sexual orientation, or sexual prefrence. Since not all men like the idea of a woman with a penis, and perhaps vice versa. Sexual orientation is not strait forward as most people think (or want to think). In fact it seems like most people belive that alternate sexual ortientations (other than strait) is just a temporary problem in society, and think if they ignore it, and contine to deny them thier civil rights (like Prop 8 passing in California) that they will eventually go away.  As if homosexuality is a new thing, like a desease or a fad, that will eventually go away when dealt with, or ignored.

SL is down, which a rare thing lately

Not too long ago, SL would be constantly down almost on a daily basis, to the point it was a running joke with everyone online. But since this past summer, down times like we are having now due to network performance or any other technical issues has become very rare.

Oddly enough I’m about to compliment the Lindens for almost eliminating this problem that has plagued SL since it started to become over-popular a few years ago.  Though the reason why SL has become a lot more stable in this past year could be because of fewer users are using it.  Yet SL’s stats show SL is growing (unusually according to them), with the value of the L$ gaining value too after being flat for years. Good work guys!

The new dashboard update for our 360’s is finally here, after all the hype since E3. I’ve not used it enough to really make an opinion on it, but so far it’s positive. The quicklaunch I like best since I get to what I want to do with out flipping around to diffrent pages and sections. The media seem to be completely lost as to what this all about.  In fact they are very clueless about the gaming community at large, asside from those pop-cap and solitare moms.

I was up late last night into the morning, and I noticed my Xbox 360 dissconnected from XBL.  I didn’t think nothing of it since that happens often, no big deal. So later I try to get back online and, oh shit it wants to update! I acctually FORGOT it was happening, I thought it was a week away in my mind.

So before I updated, I goggled about the update real fast.  I found this uk based site, that has absolutly no clue about gaming at ALL. From PC gaming, or consoles. The article talks about how the Xbox is not entering “Virtual Worlds” as if another Second Life.  They even talk about how Sony’s PS3 has “Home” as if it’s acctually been around for a while, when it has yet gone live.  Furthermore they talk about Nintendo Wii’s use of Mii characters, and how they apparently ALSO have a “virtual world” showing screenshots from the game “Animal Crossing.” How fucking STUPID are these people?

Typical old-media trying to sound hip and informative with a cluttered website, and being totally clueless so that what a virutal world is.  Gee I guess if you have anything called an “Avatar” oh you must be in a virtual world, laying dragons, and casting “magic missles.”
