Joost rules!

Filed under: Uncategorized — hugsalot @ 2:50 pm

I just got into the Joost beta.. there’s a ton of funny shit on this.  It’s all about video on demand, streaming to your PC.  No HD content from what I can tell, and nothing widescreen anyway.  It’s mostly TV shows from around the world; a lot of stuff I’ve never seen before.  But there’s a lot of common crap from MTV and ComCentral.  The nice thing is you just time in what you’re looking for.. and voala!

Great way to find totally random shit when you’re just bored and not sleepy enough to goto bed. Also the advertisements are minimal.  Some shows will end thier segmet as if going to commercial, but then the show starts up.  There are some commercials randomly places but it’s a single 30 second ad.  You also get a quick 5 second “responsered by” advert before the show starts.

If you got Joost, do search for “Beerfest” and “stupid” some funny shit!

Escort rental signs at Shemale Sex Palace

Filed under: Second Life Shit! — hugsalot @ 9:48 am

For those interested, I’ve been putting up rental signs at the Palace this week. I keep adding more as they get rented up. And I will NOT be spamming people telling others about my rental signs. I’m not that hard up. The Palace has decent traffic already so I don’t need to resort to that level.

Also please, I only want shemales to rent signs. No cross-dressers, no women, and no men.  If you have tits and a cock, you’re welcome to rent a sign. It’s only 50L and you get a full refund on whatever remaining weeks you have left (except the very first week, which you have about 10 mins to cancel to get that money back.)

Enjoy!

Escort spam

Filed under: Second Life Shit! — hugsalot @ 8:23 am

Just about every day I login, and I’m inundated with landmarks poping up on my screen, IM’s from strangers, and note cards plastered over my entire screen which is really FUCKING ANNOYING when you’re in the middle of something. All this is are advertisements about yet another place that has escort signs for rent. Who fucking CARES?! I consider this blatant spam.

I define spam as:
1) advertizements I didn’t ask for, nor had any warning about
2) intrusive messages (i.e. note cards popup in my face blocking out most of my view)
3) exsesive, and repeated ways of doing this.

If you’re an escort who advertizes at areas like Escort Yellowpages, I’m sure you’ve been spammed by others who used Yellow Pages to find you. First of all it would be nice if the Lindens changed the way note cards behave when you get one. If they just appeared minimized when you get that with out being so FUCKING intrusive, that would make a whole world of difference.

IF any of you people are trying to get more people to rent signs at your place, please DO NOT SPAM any escorts. Please IM us asking if we are interested. If don’t get a reply, assume the response is “NO” and *DO NOT* send any note cards or landmarks, unless we specifically say it’s okay to do so. Otherwise you’re just a fucking SPAMMER.

Guitar Hero II woes?

Filed under: Gaming! — hugsalot @ 5:12 am

Sure are a lotta whiners out there. I have not had a single problem with my guitar since I got it with the game. I’m having a blast. Stories all around different gamer forums are fill of horror stories about the whammy bar not responding, and going into star power mode randomly hasn’t been an issue with me. Today XBL had a update to GHII that apparently addresses the whammy Bar issue, but I’ve not noticed anything. Perhaps I’m just lucky to get a non-defective guitar controller, or maybe all these people just really SUCK at the game. Could be both really. If you have an HDTV it could be lagged (HDTV tend to have a lot of video processing for a clean image that causes a delay in both sound and vide0), and you’d never be able to play the game proper. GHII has an adjustment for this.

However I would have to agree that the songs are over priced considering:

A) There’s no way to pirate these songs we download from the marketplace, plus you wouldn’t WAN’T to anyway. These songs are split up in about 3-4 different tracks (bass, lead guitar, rythrm, etc) so that they can be heard separately, and no be played when you make a mistake.

Not like you can rip these into MP3s. Even if you dumped the audio to record it you’ll get all the “Bloops” “Spaz” sounds when you make a mistake, and the clash of lighting sounds when you complete a series of star power note phrases. Plus the cheering of the croud in the background. It’s not like you’ll end up with a quality recording. Easier to find these songs off the net anyway.

Found a torrent of the entire soundtrack of GHII for 360 here.

B) You do not listen to this music passively like some mp3 file. You have to PLAY the songs *yourself* for them to be heard fully.

C) Most of this music are “cover songs” meaning they aren’t the original recordings done by the original artists. Songs that state “as made famous by…” are cover songs that mimic the artists that made the said song “famous.” Some of them aren’t good. Killer Queen is horrible re-do.

So why do we have to pay more for music tracks that can’t be pirated, weren’t created by the original artists, and requires labor on our part to actually listen too?

Guitar Hero II

Filed under: Gaming!, Second Life Shit! — hugsalot @ 9:36 pm

I’m completely obsessed playing this game on my Xbox 360. It came out yesterday and which I had pre-ordered it months ago at GameStop. The game has a long learning curve but it’s fucking FUN!

Playing on Second Life for the next week or so will be limited. My left hand and arms get really sore pressing the fret buttons. Favorite song so far is Possum Kingdom on Medium. I tried hard and I tottally messed up.
